CLAIR WAR HERO IS LAID TO REST A military funeral was held on Tuesday for Pvt. John Beecher, St. Clair, first St. Clair boy to have lost his life in Korea, from his late home, 150 S Third St., Mass was celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church by the Rev. Stephen Knute, assisted by the Rev. Michael Sirak, deacon, and the Rev. John Feeser, sub deacon. Father Knute delivered the sermon, gave absolution of the body and also conducted committal services in the parish cemetery. Military rites, in charge of St. Clair Welfare Council, was in command of John Jewell. Color guards, color bearers and honor guards were: Joseph Leddy, Albert Hentz, Frank Novski, Peter Kapsha, Edward Barry, Michael Tobin, Kipling Strausser, Edward Jacoby and Peter Zulick. The firing squad was composed of Joseph Maley, John Uhrin, Charles Premich, John Watunya, John Lutzkanin, John Kudlick, Adam Giemza and Anthony Marcavage. Cyril Wochock was the bugler. The pall bearers were: Joseph Colna, Francis Tirolo, Michael Melnic, Albert Kanezo, Francis Kubich and Edward Tokarick. Collihan Funeral Service was in charge.
