George Freeze, Sr., 80, of 808 Race St., Pottsville, died Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock in the Warne Hospital. He was in ill health for one year and was admitted to the hospital last Saturday. Born and reared in Danville, he was a son of the late Henry and Jane E. Kerns Freeze, and was a resident of Pottsville since 1914. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church. He was last employed by the Charles Baber Cemetery, but was retired for 15 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Hannah Correll, and the following children: John H., Bridgeton, N. J.; George C., Jr., of Mt. Carmel; James W., Reading; Roy F., Pottsville; Charles O., Wernersville; Howard, Norman C., Mary, wife of Morgan Kimmel; Mrs. Helen Hauptly, Carrie, wife of William Reedy; Ida, wife of David Lowthert, all of Pottsville; 32 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John and Wilson, Pottsville, and one sister, Mrs. Eva Myers, Williamstown. Funeral on Saturday afternoon from the Allen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Basil Murray in charge of services. Burial at Mr. Laurel Cemetery.
