He was born and reared in Schuylkill Haven, and was employed at various places, including the Refowich Theatre, where he held the post of janitor, and as a hand of the farm department of the Pottsville Republican for several years. Due to old age and failing health, he had not worked for the past year. He was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, Schuylkill Haven, and fraternally was a member of the Red Men of Schuylkill Haven. His wife preceded him in death 19 months ago, and to survive he leaves three sons: Raymond, Charles and Robert, of Schuylkill Haven, and two brothers, Frank, of Tamaqua, and John, of Landingville. Eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. One of the granddaughters made her home with him and kept house since the death of his wife. The funeral will be held from his late home on Monday afternoon, with services at the house to be conducted by Rev. E.S. Noll, and interment in the Union Cemetery. Undertaker Wagner, of Schuylkill Haven, will have charge. Additional Comments: His spouse, Mary Elizabeth (Becker) Kantner, preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1929.
