We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________ Jackson County, OH The Jackson Herald Wednesday, January 24, 1894 page 1 Obituary PHILLIPS - ELIZA PHILLIPS was the daughter of Abel and Mary Williams. She was one of 11 children. She was born in Tremont, Schuylkill Co., PA, February 27, 1837. At the age of 12 years, she came with her parents to Pomeroy, OH, where she lived until her parents in the spring of 1853 moved to Hartford City, WV. In Hartford City, February 22, 1856, she was married to David Phillips. To them was born 12 children, 7 boys and 5 girls. She leaves behind her 6 boys and 4 girls. In the spring of 1855 she moved to Briar Hill, Mahoning Co., OH. She lived in that neighborhood until December 1880, when she with her family came to Jackson. She resided here until her death removed her, January 18, 1894, at the age of 55 years, 10 months, and 21 days. To mourn her departure she leaves a husband, 10 children, a brother, and many relatives and friends. She was a loving wife, an affectionate mother, and one who was strongly attached to her children. ___________________________________________________
