CLAIR, DIED St. Clair's oldest woman, Mrs. Lydia Reed, 92 passed away at her home, 266 N. Mill street, at 4 o'clock, Tuesday Morning after an illness of six weeks. A resident of the town for the last half a century, the aged woman had remarkable physical and mental health, for her years, and she _interested in light household tasks in her home and enjoyed short walks outside of her home during nice weather until the fatal attack of pneumonia that confined her to her bed 6 weeks ago. Mrs. Reed is the widow of Thomas M. Reed, whose death occurred 16 years ago. She was a member of the Reformed Church and in her earlier years was one of the most faithful and active members. Mrs. Reed's family of seven children, five daughters and two sons, were at her bedside when she died. Her prosperity includes 175 descendants, of those, 54 are grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. Her children are: Mrs. Robert Thomas, Mrs. Charles Stephenson, St. Clair, Richard, Brockton, William at home and Mrs. Katherine Wasley at home; Mrs. John Blum and Mrs. William Pierce, Port Carbon. Her funeral will be held Friday afternoon with W. R. Morgan of St. Clair, the funeral director in charge. Mill St., St. Clair, Interment in Odd Fellow Cemetery, St. Clair. Pottsville Republican 3/31/1939 MRS. LYDIA REED - The funeral of Mrs. Lydia Reed, oldest resident of St. Clair, who died at her home at the age of 92 years, was held Friday afternoon. Rev. Porter Seiwell, past of the Reformed Church, conducted the services at the home and at the grave in the I.O..F. Cemetery. The pall Bearers were: William Reed, Edward Thomas, Frederick Blum, William Stone, Olive Reed and Thomas Pierce. W. R. Morgan & Son, St. Clair, were the funeral directors
