Henry H. Sussick, of 35 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, died Wednesday at Hazleton
General Hospital. He was born in Tresckow, a son of Versilia Mikruk Sussick, of
Tresckow, and the late Patrick P. Sussick. He served with the Army during World
War II and was a survivor of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a
member and past president of the Pennsylvania Pearl Harbor Attack Survivors and
held other offices in the organization. He was the recipient of the
Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters and four
bronze stars. Mr. Sussick was employed by Beltram Coal Co. before retiring. He
was a member of United Church of Christ, McAdoo, Veterans of Foreign Wars and
American Legion posts, both of McAdoo, United Mine Workers of America and served
as an officer with the Audenried Local. His wife, the former Elizabeth Chomo,
died in 1988. Surviving, in addition to his moth-er, are a stepson, John
Fiolich, Hazleton; three stepdaughters, Mary Camer, Levittown, Elizabeth
Mulreaney, Bethlehem, and Barbara Pancerella, West Hazleton; 18 grandchildren;
11 great-grandchildren; a brother, James, Norristown; three sisters, Elizabeth
Nor and Virginia Price, both of South Boundbrook, N.J., and Elsie Vinchur,
Manville, N.J.; nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday
from Damiano Funeral Home, McAdoo. The Rev. Richard Abernethy will officiate.
Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
