We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ BALNANOSIS, ANDREW aka: Andrius Balnanosis No. 1278 Department of Commerce and Labor Naturalization Service United States of American PETITION FOR NATURALIZATION To the Honorable the Common Pleas Court of Schuylkill County The petition of Andrius Balnanosis hereby field, respectfully showeth: First, My place of residence is North Street, Minersvlile, Pennsylvania Second, My occupation is Miner Third, I was born the 5th day of December , 1883 at Paquanis, Russia, my race is Lithuanian, Fourth, I emigrated to the United States from Hamburg on or about the 6th day of May 1904 and arrived in the United States, at the Port of New York, on or about the 6th day of May 1904 on the vessel UNKNOWN Fifth, I declared my intention to become a citizen of the United States on the 18th day of January 1911, at Pottsville, PA in the Common Pleas Court of Schuiylkill County. Sixth, I am married. My wife’s name is Gertruda Pasczakavage Balnanosis, she was born in Dumczkis, Russia and now resides at North Street, Minersville, Pennsylvania. I have 2 children and the name, date and place of birth and place of residence of each of said children is as follows: Annie born 24 October 1909; Joseph born 29 August 1911; Both were born at Minersville, Pennsylvania and still reside there. Seventh, I am not a disbeliver in or opposed to organized government or a member of or affiliated with any organization or body of persons teaching disbelief in or opposed to organized government. I am not a polygamist nor a beliver in the practice of polygamy. I am attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and it is my intention to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce absolute and forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty and particularly to Nicholas Emperor of all the Russias of whom at this time I am a subject and it is my intention to reside permanently in the United States. Eighth: I am able to speak the English language. Ninth, I have resided continuously in the United States of America for the term of five years at least immediately preceding the date of this petition, to wit, since the 20th day of May 1904 and in the state of Pennsylvania continuously next preceding the date of this petition since the 22nd day of May 1904 being a residence within this State of at least one year next preceding the date of this petition. I emigrated to the United States of America from Hamburg, Germany on the vessel unknown; no verification obtainable; my last foreign residence was Paquanis, Russia. It is my bona fide intention to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to my foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, and particularly to Nicholas II, Emperor of all the Russias, of whom I am now a subject: I arrived at the Port of New York in the State of New York on or about the 20th day of May 1904; I am not an anarchist: I am not a polygamist nor a believer in the practice of polygamy; and it is my intention in good faith to become a citizen of the United States of America and to permanently reside therein: SO HELP ME GOD.
