Thus-- First, I commend the remains of my body to the cool bosom of the earth, until the day of resurrection, and my soul into the gentle hands of our Savior, Jesus Christ, that it may enjoy eternal life. Second, It is my will and I direct that all my just debts and the costs of my funeral shall be paid as soon as possible after my death. Third, With respect to the division of the earthly goods with which God has blessed me in this life, I give and bequeath to my oldest son, Johannes, the four acres on the west side of the road, bordering the land owned by Israel Lindner, and now inhabited by Johannes Walker, and that shall be his entire inheritance from my earthly goods. Fourth, I give and bequeath to my second son Henry, four acres of land, bordering that of Israel Lindner and on the north side by the land of Michael Horald. Fifth, I give and bequeath to my third son George, four acres of land, bordered on the north by that of Michael Horald and Henry Walker. Sixth, I give and bequeath to my fourth daughter or child, Catherine, four acres of land, bordered on the north by the land of Johannes Walker and others, and now inhabited by my son-in-law, Benjamin Moyer. Seventh, I give and bequeath to my fifth child or daughter, Magtalina, four acres of land, bordered on the north by that owned by Georg [sic] Walker and Catherine Moyer and others. Eighth, As far as my remaining goods and possessions are concerned, it is my will that my dear wife shall, after my death, take possession of all my properties and shall live there until she herself shall die, and that the claim of none of our children shall prevent her from living there. Ninth, After her death, my property shall be divided into four parts, one part to go to my son Henry, one part to my son George, one part to daughter Catharina [sic], and one part to my daughter Magtalena. Tenth and last, I hereby name my son Henry and my son-in-law Benjamin Moyer to be the executers of this my last will and testament. I revoke herewith any other will, bequest, or testament made by me during my lifetime and declare this present document and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness thereof, I have subscried my hand and seal, this third day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven.
