It is conceded to be one of the largest reunions in the state, numbering in membership, five hundred, and thirty new members joined this year, which swells the number to five hundred thirty. It was an ideal day. The picnickers went early in autos as though they were headed for the Lewisburg fair, and every person enjoyed the day shaking hands and getting acquainted. The Romig clan can be found in almost every county in the state. However the attendance this year could not be expected to come up to that of former years, on account of war conditions. A number of the young men of the family have gone across, while others are in training camps here. Then too, the scarcity of labor, and the high transportation rates help to account for the difference in attendance. The old officers were all re-elected to their respective positions. It was decided to hold the next reunion at Rolling Green park, August 23, 1919, unless circumstances should make it necessary to change the date. Altoona Tribune, Monday, August 26, 1918, page 5
