    H.            P.             .             .             .            This was undoubtedly PETER HERSHBERGER, the father of Daniel. Peter Hershberger was
    ~             ~              ~             ~             ~            ...instantly killed by a falling limb of a tree while on horseback, riding in company
    ~             ~              ~             ~             ~            ...with Dr. Muckenhaupt, who was a doctor and preacher combined. This happened
    ~             ~              ~             ~             ~            ...at a point about 1 1/2 miles S.W. of the present Post Office of Springs. There is a grand
    ~             ~              ~             ~             ~            ...daughter of Peter Hershberger still living, Mrs. Tillie Stevanus Summy active in body and mind
    ~             ~              ~             ~             ~            ...at the age of 91 years., as she knows about this only as a matter of tradition, it must have
    ~             ~              ~             ~             ~            ...happened more than 100 years ago. This is the most remote ancestor that I have any
    ~             ~              ~             ~             ~            ...information about of the large number of Hershbergers in this section and in states further west.
