The children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Cover, who died in 1881 and in 1867, respectively, gathered at the "old homestead" to celebrate what would have been the centennial anniversary of their mother's birth had she been living. For this filiality 180 persons assembled together and, after invoking the Divine blessing upon the company, proceeded to honor the memory of their parents by having a right good social time. The exercises opened with a hymn entitled, "Anywhere with Jesus." The Rev. J. F. Stabley, of Jennertown, then offered prayer, after which a choir sang "Home, Sweet Home." Pastor Stabley then delivered an address of welcome, after which, William Cover, one of Mrs. Cover's sons, who presided, made a nice little talk and sang a song. This closed the formal exercises, when the social side of the occasion came uppermost. Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Cover were survived by eight children - three daughters and five sons - all of whom were living and all present at the reunion, except Peter R.
