While a resident of Washington county, Pennsylvania he enlisted in August 1780 served three months as a private in Captain Joseph Ogle's Company, Colonel Brodheads' Pennsylvania Regiment, was in the engagement with the Indians at Coshocton. While living in Bedford County, Pennsylvania he enlisted April 15, 1781, served as a private in Captain Samuel Davis' Company and was discharged November 18, 1781. He was allowed pension on his application executed September 29, 1832 while a resident of Danville, Union township, Knox County, Ohio. Soldier has a brother John in Holmes County, Ohio in 1832.
