* Born 1842 
* Died Oct. 4, 1896 in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. 
* Buried in Ursina Cemetery, Ursina, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Corporal Co. F 2nd Regiment W. Va. Cavalry 
* Enlisted June 1861 
* Served July 24, 1861 - June 30, 1865 - 47 month 6 days 
* Wounded at the battle of Bunker Hill, Va. which incapacitated  him from 
further active service 
* Disability - Shot through hip 
* Minnie ball was extracted 35 years later, he died after the operation.
* Invalid Pension: Applied July 9, 1866, Application #111437, Certificate 
#77646; Widow Pension: Application #643113, Certificate #443846; Minor Pension: 
Application #880890, Certificate #678337 
* Co. L 2nd Regiment West Virginia Cavalry
* His son Milton received his education at the Soldiers Orphans Home, 
Jumonville, Pa.
