Infantry * Enlisted Oct. 24, 1862 at age 40 in Somerset, Pa. * Mustered in Nov. 2, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa. for 9 months * Promoted from Corporal May 5, 1863 * Mustered out Aug. 7, 1863 with company in Harrisburg, Pa. * Served Nov. 2, 1862 - Aug. 7, 1863 - 9 month 5 days * Private 93rd Regiment Pa. Infantry * Enrolled Sept. 17, 1864 at age 43 in Pittsburgh, Pa. * Mustered in Sept. 17, 1864 in Pittsburgh, Pa. * Height - 5' 8 1/2" ; Hair - Brown; Complexion - Dark; Eyes - Blue * Occupation - Farmer * Promoted to Corporal, date unknown * Widow Pension: Applied Nov. 16, 1865, Application #115331, Certificate #78374 * Widow Pension lists the following: Widow - Mary A.; Maiden name of Mary was Zimmerman; Peter and Mary were married Feb. 25, 1847; Admitted July 11, 1866 to a pension of $8 per month commencing May 26, 1865; Certificate dated Aug. 20, 1867 grants Mary a pension of $8 per month Commencing May 26, 1865 with an additional $2 for each of the following children until they reach the age of 16 years as follows: William Michael born Sept. 5, 1852 dropped on Sept. 4, 1868, Josiah born Sept. 17, 1854 dropped on Sept. 16, 1870, John Henry born Sept. 26, 1856 dropped on Sept. 25, 1872, Catharine Lavina born Apr. 8, 1859 dropped on Apr. 7, 1875, Alonzo Orlando born Jan. 16, 1861 dropped on Jan. 15, 1877 and Elizabeth Anna born June 7, 1864 dropped on June 6, 1880; Mary was last paid Oct. 4, 1903 at the rate of $12 per month and was dropped from the rolls because of her death Nov. 19, 1903; Peter and Mary's first child was Susanna born Nov. 30, 1849, she did not receive a minor pension as she would have been 16 years of age before July 25, 1866.
