Berkey, George W.

* Born Jan. 1, 1838 in Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. F 133rd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 8, 1862 at age 24 in Ebensburg, Pa 
* Mustered in Aug. 15, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa 
* Wounded in side and back Dec. 13, 1862 at Fredericksburg and received 
treatment for four and a half months 
* In Feb. 1863 he was furloughed for 60 days 
* In the spring of 1863 he was detailed on duty in hospital in Washington for 
one month 
* Mustered out May 26, 1863 with company 
* Discharged May 26, 1863 at Harrisburg, Pa. 
* Invalid Pension: Applied Dec. 5, 1872 and Mar. 7, 1908, Application #179668, 
Certificate #122247
