* Private Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Captured 
* Died Oct. 22, 1864 at Andersonville, Ga.; Grave 11222 
* Enrolled Aug. 21, 1862 at age 19 at Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa by F. A. Edmunds 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. 
* Eyes - Brown; Hair - Dark; Complexion - Dark; Height - 5' 10"
* Occupation at enrollment - Farmer 
* He was in the following battles: Chancelorsville, Gettysburg, Wilderness and 
Laurel Ridge 
* Dec. 8, 1862 he has the measles 
* Dec. 15, 1862 he is very sick, do not think he will live long and we can't get 
him to a hospital. 
* Returned to company Dec. 25, 1862, although not yet fit for duty.
