* Died Feb. 25, 1922 in Cumberland, Maryland 
* Private Co. D 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enlisted Aug. 1, 1862 at age 21 in Stoystown, Pa
* Mustered in Aug. 22, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa
* Appointed 4th Corporal Aug. 20, 1862 
* Reduced to Private May 30, 1863 at his own request 
* On extra duty in Sharpshooter Battalion 3rd Div. 5th A. C. since Aug. 11, 1864 
* He was in the battle at Gettysburg, Pa. and many other engagements. 
* Also was at Appomattox at close of war. 
* Absent, on detached service at muster out 
* Discharged May 29, 1865 
* Invalid Pension: Applied May 2, 1890 and Mar. 21, 1907, Application #778387,
