* Buried in Newberry Cemetery Addison Twp. Somerset Co. Pa. 
* 2nd Lieutenant Co. H 85th Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Sept. 1, 1861 at age 22 in Somerfield, Pa. 
* Mustered in Nov. 12, 1862 as 2nd Lieutenant at Uniontown, Pa. 
* Died June 23, 1862 at White Oak Swamp of Typhoid Fever 
* Served Nov. 12, 1861 - June 30, 1862 - 7 month 18 days 
* Residence at enrollment - Somerset Co. Pa. 
* NOTE: Ledger of Co. C lists this man as transferred to Co. H as Captain, no 
record of promotion available. 
* He died three weeks after his brother-in-law, James Hamilton, was killed.
