* Born in Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 20, 1862 at age 18 in Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. by F. A. Edmunds 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. 
* Was sent to U. S. A. G. Hospital Nov. 22, 1862 & from reliable information 
since obtained is transferred to V. R. C., but have no official notice 
* Eyes - Gray; Hair - Light; Complexion - Dark; Height - 5' 7" 
* Occupation at enrollment - Farmer 
* He was never in an engagement, was sent away sick and transferred to Veteran 
Reserve Corps, date unknown
