* Born in Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Deserted Jan. 20, 1863 at Belle Plain 
* Complained about the quality of his rations on Jan. 12, 1863 
* Enrolled Aug. 20, 1862 at age 26 in Berlin, Pa. by F. A. Edmunds 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. 
* Deserted the U. S. Service at camp near Bell Plain, Va. Jan. 20, 1863 
* Eyes - Blue; Hair - Light; Complexion - Light; Height - 5' 7" 
* Occupation at enrollment - Cooper 
* He was in the battle of Fredericksburg 
* Feb. 20, 1863 learned that the Broucher's have gone west.
