* Died Sept. 5, 1916 in Meyersdale, Pa. 
* Buried in Union Cemetery, Meyersdale, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. H 85th Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enlisted Sept. 25, 1861 at age 34 in Harnedsville, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Mustered in Nov. 12, 1861 in Uniontown, Pa. 
* Discharged Sept. 27, 1862 on Surgeon's Certificate of Disability at 
Westonville, Pa. for disability and Paralysis 
* Served Nov. 12, 1861 - Sept. 25, 1862 - 10 month 13 days 
* Height - 5'10"; Hair - Dark; Complexion - Dark; Eyes - Blue 
* Occupation - Farmer 
* Pension application: Certificate #296,809 dated May 28, 1885 at #6 per month;  
Shell injury of right arm and resulting tumor; pension increased to $12 for 
inability to earn a support by manual labor; Received $100 bounty July 22, 1861, 
received $100 bounty July 28, 1862 by settlement 34,985 paid Apr. 11, 1885; 
Discharge says he is 37 years old.
