* Private Co. H 85th Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enlisted Sept. 24, 1861 at age 24 in Somerfield, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Mustered in Nov. 12, 1861 as Private in Uniontown, Pa. 
* Discharged Nov. 16, 1865 by Surgeon's Certificate of Disability 
* Widow Pension: Applied Sept. 14, 1864, Application #64929, Certificate #95962; 
Minor Pension: Application #222150, Certificate #171397
* Widow Pension lists the following: Widow - Susannah. She received a pension of 
$8 per month commencing Dec. 2, 1863 with an additional $2 for her child, Julia 
A. Chrise, commencing July 25, 1866. The pension for Julia A. stopped on Nov. 
20, 1877. NOTE: This would make her date of birth Nov. 21, 1877.
