* Born Aug. 26, 1827 in Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. H 171st Regiment Pa. Militia 
* Enrolled Oct 24, 1862 at age 32 in Harrisburg, Pa 
* Mustered in Nov. 1, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa for 9 months 
* Mustered out Aug. 8, 1863 with company at Harrisburg, Pa 
* 1863 he was confined in the hospital at Fortress Monroe, Va. for one month 
with Diarrhea. 
* Discharged Aug. 9, 1863 at Harrisburg, Pa. 
* Invalid Pension: Applied Sept. 20, 1890, Application #922683, Certificate 
#718400; Widow Pension: Application #859189, Certificate #637019
