Criswell, Oliver W. 

* Born in 1843 in Marshall Co. West Virginia 
* Died Apr. 23, 1881 in Sherrard, West Virginia 
* Co. A 12th Regiment West Virginia Infantry 
* Enlisted Aug. 13, 1862 at age 17 in Moundsville, West Virginia for 3 
years service 
* Discharged Aug. 16, 1865 at Richmond, Va. 
* Served Aug. 16, 1862 - Aug. 16, 1865 
* Suffered from hemorrhages of the lungs and heart disease 
* In the spring of 1865 in Virginia he contracted Chronic Diarrhea 
* He was treated in the hospital at Clarysville, Maryland for about 3 
months in the summer of 1864 
* Occupation - Cooper 
* Applied for a pension while a resident of Northampton Twp. Somerset 
Co. Pa. 
* Invalid Pension: Applied Aug. 7, 1880, Application # 409689, no 
certificate number listed; Widow Pension: Application # 387227, no 
certificate number listed
