Virginia * Died in Rockwood, Pa. at age 70 * Private Co. A 162nd Virginia Militia under Captain James D. Erwin * Enrolled Aug. 1, 1861 at age 23 at Monterey * At the outbreak of the Civil War he made an attempt to evade Confederate authorities and enlist in the Union Army.
