Edmunds * Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. * Eyes - Black; Hair - Black; Complexion - Dark; Height - 5' 9" * Occupation at enrollment - Blacksmith * Transferred to Co. K 14th Regiment Veteran Reserve Corps, date unknown * Discharged by General Order June 28, 1865 * Served Aug. 25, 1862 - June 28, 1865 - 34 month 3 days * Disability - Chronic Bronchitis * Deserted in 1863, caught and sentenced by Court Martial to Forfeit two month pay and one month labor on fortifications * He was in the following battles: Fredericksburg, Chancelorsville, Gettysburg and Wilderness * May 5, 1864 sent to hospital sick. * May 21, 1863 he killed a Copperhead snake 3 - 4 feet long. * May 24, 1863 he is under arrest at the Provost. * Invalid Pension: Applied July 12, 1878, Application #258236, Certificate #193294; Widow Pension: Application #821578, Certificate #593948 SOURCE: * Somerset Co.
