Eicher, Henry Kern
                        
* Born Feb. 10, 1835 in Springfield Twp. Fayette Co. Pa. 
* Died Mar. 13, 1913 in Zephyrhills, Fla. 
* Private Battery K 212th Regiment 6th Pa. Heavy Artillery 
* Served Aug. 22, 1864 - July 10, 1865 
* Henry enlisted three times before he was accepted into the service. In 1861 he 
enlisted in Co. K 85th Regiment Pa. Infantry and was rejected. In 1862 he 
enlisted in Co. H 142nd Regiment and was again rejected. In Aug. 1864 he 
enlisted in Battery K 6th Pa. Heavy Artillery and served until the end of the 
war, being discharged at Fort Ethan Allen, Va. on June 13, 1865.

* Invalid Pension: Applied June 14, 1889 and Mar. 23, 1907, Application #710217,

* One of five brothers to serve in the Civil War [ Joseph Kern Eicher in Co. K 
212th Regiment 6th Pa. Heavy Artillery; Daniel Kern Eicher in Co. C 126th 
Regiment Ohio Infantry, who died of starvation while a prisoner at Florence, 
South Carolina; Isaac Kern Eicher in 212th Regiment 6th Pa. Heavy Artillery and 
Abraham K. Eicher, Co. H 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry]
