* Born June 6, 1846 in Reedsville, Preston Co. Va. 
* Died July 3, 1925 at Confluence, Somerset Co. Pa. at age 79 years 0 month 27 
days 
* Buried in Ursina Cemetery, Ursina, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. O 6th Regiment W. Va. Infantry 
* Enlisted in 1862 at the age of 16 
* Was in the battle of Lookout Mountain and while encamped at Moorefield, W. 
Va., he was captured by the Jones band and was a prisoner of the rebels for a 
time 
* Served Oct.28, 1863 - June 10, 1865 - 19 month 12 days 
* Invalid Pension: Applied Aug. 13, 1890 and June 9, 1908, Application #894310, 
Certificate #789900
