* Died Mar. 28, 1925 at 10:30 a. m. in Confluence, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Buried in Addison Borough Cemetery, Addison Twp. Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Corporal Co. B 163rd Regiment 18th Pa. Cavalry 2nd Division 
* Enrolled Feb. 18, 1864 at age 19 in Pittsburgh, Pa. 
* Mustered in Feb. 20, 1864 as Private in Pittsburgh, Pa. 
* Served Feb. 18, 1864 - Oct.                                                                                                                                                              
31, 1865 
* Mustered out Oct. 31, 1865 
* Left home Feb. 14, 1864, it being his 16th birthday 
* Fought in the following battles: The Wilderness, under Grant May 5, 1864 -    
Spotsylvania May 8 - Petersburg May 12 - Hanover Court House June 15 - Cedar 
Creek Sept. 20 
* He had one mount shot from under him. 
* His Father, Jonathan also fought in the Civil War.
