Pa. by F. A. Edmunds * Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. * Captured July 1, 1863 at Gettysburg, Pa., taken to Libby Prison and from there to Belle Isle. He was kept there during the winter. Taken to Andersonville where he died of exposure at age 26 years and 15 days * Died Oct. 19, 1864 at Andersonville, Ga. * Served July 1, 1863 - Oct. 19, 1864 - 15 month 18 days * Fought at Fredericksburg * Eyes - Black; Hair - Black; Complexion - Dark; Height 5' 9" * Occupation at enrollment - Farmer * Jan. 16, 1863 detailed to hunt for the body of Herman Fritz, did not find body.
