* 2nd Lieutenant Co. F. 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enlisted Aug. 25, 1862 in Berlin, Somerset Co., Pa
* Mustered in Aug 25, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa 
* Discharged Mar. 11, 1863 on Surgeons Certificate of Disability from wounds 
received at Battle of Fredericksburg, Va. Dec. 13, 1862 
* He was severely wounded in the breast Dec. 13, 1862 at Fredericksburg, Va., 
for which he was discharged. 
* Disability - Shell wound in chest and ankle 
* Served Aug. 25, 1862 - Mar. 11, 1863
