* Private Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 20, 1862 at age 32 in Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. by F. A. Edmunds 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. 
* Eyes - Blue; Hair - Light; Complexion - Fair; Height - 5' 3" 
* Occupation at enrollment - Farmer 
* He was detailed to the Ambulance Corps and was discharged from the U. S. 
service Mar. 16, 1863 on Surgeon's Certificate of Disability. 
* Discharged Mar. 15, 1863 and started for home on Mar. 16, 1863 
* Invalid Pension: Applied July 18, 1885, Application #545282, Certificate
