* Died Feb. 19, 1896 
* Buried in Union Cemetery, Meyersdale, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. B 54th Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Mustered in at age 20 as Private 
* Served Sept. 17, 1861 - Sept. 16, 1864 - 36 month 
* Not on muster out roll 
* He participated in battles at New Market, Piedmont, Snicker's Gap, Winchester, 
and Lynchburg. 
* He was taken prisoner at Paw Paw, W. Va. on Oct. 5, 1862, and spent two months 
in Libby Prison in Richmond, Va. before being paroled. 
* Height - 5' 5"; Hair - Sandy; Complexion - Fair; Eyes - Grey 
* Occupation at enrollment - Teacher 
* Residence at enrollment - Somerset Co. Pa.
