* Buried in Berlin I. O. O. F. Cemetery, Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enlisted Aug. 20, 1862 at age 21 in Berlin, Pa. by F. A. Edmunds 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. 
* Severely wounded in the thigh Dec. 13, 1863 at Fredericksburg, Va. 
* Minnie ball in the thigh, after his recovery he was transferred to the Co. A 
12th Veteran Reserve Corps on July 24, 1863 by order of War Dept. 
* Discharged June 28, 1865 
* Served Aug. 25, 1862 - May 29, 1865 - 33 month 4 days 
* Disability - Gunshot wound left thigh 
* Eyes - Gray; Hair - Light; Complexion - Fair; Height 5' 4" 
* Occupation at enrollment - Farmer 
* Dec. 25, 1862 he is in Fairfax Seminary hospital near Alexandria, Va.
