Pa. * Died Feb. 24, 1929 in Johnstown, Pa. * Private Co. D 138th Regiment Pa. Infantry * Enrolled Aug. 18, 1862 at age 21 in Shellsburg, Pa. * Mustered in Aug. 29, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa * Absent, wounded since Apr 2, 1865, U. S. G. Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa * Wounded in right hand at Spotsylvania by gunshot for which he was treated in hospital at Philadelphia, Pa. for three months * In the spring of 1865 he was wounded in the left foot at Ft. Fisher and was treated in hospital at Philadelphia for three months * In 1864 he was furloughed for 30 days * In the fall of 1864 he was detailed to guard forts in Washington D.
