* Private Co. G 54th Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Died July 18, 1864 
* Buried in National Cemetery, Winchester, Va.; Lot 18 
* Enrolled Nov. 20, 1861 at age 45 in Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Mustered in Jan. 18, 1862 as Private in Harrisburg, Pa. 
* Height - 5' 7 1/2"; Hair - Black; Complexion - Dark; Eyes - Black 
* Occupation at enrollment - Cooper 
* Residence at enrollment - Berlin, Pa. 
* Last paid to include Dec. 31, 1863, and has pay due him from that time to 
present date 
* Peter was fined five dollars of his monthly pay by Court Martial on Nov. 6, 
1862 
* Peter is the father of Francis Hersch
