* Born May 27, 1843 in Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Died Apr. 22, 1907 
* Buried in Union Cemetery, Somerset, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private in Lieutenant Harry G. Elder's Co. C 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
commanded by Colonel Commins 
* Enrolled Aug. 14, 1862 to serve 3 years or the duration in Somerset, Pa 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa 
* Wounded Dec. 13, 1862 at Fredericksburg, Va.
* Discharged Feb 23, 1864 in Harrisburg, Pa 
* Shot in knee, lay outdoors for 4 days before operation was preformed. He was 
sent to Harwood Hospital at Washington, D. C. and remained until Mar. 1864, (1 
year and 3 months). He had 4 or more inches taken off his leg. 
* Discharged Mar. 7, 1864 at Washington, D. C. (also St. Elizabeth), by reason 
of Surgeon's Certificate of Disability 
* Age 18 
* Height - 5'5"; Hair - Dark; Complexion - Dark; Eyes - Brown 
* Occupation - Farmer 
* Not in condition to enter or re-enlist in the Invalid Corps 
* Disability arose from wounds received in battle
