Infantry * Enlisted Aug. 8, 1862 at age 29 in Berlin, Pa. by F. A. Edmunds * Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. * Appointed musician Sept 1, 1862 by Order of R. P. Cummins * Discharged May 29, 1865 with company * Musician (drummer) * The same drum he carried in Civil War was used at his funeral. * He was in the following battles: Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg * Served Aug. 25, 1862 - May 29, 1865 - 33 month 4 days * Eyes - Hazel; Hair - Dark; Complexion - Dark; Height - 5' 8" * Occupation at enrollment - Carpenter * He remained a musician during the term of service * Feb. 11, 1863 started home on furlough * Returned Feb. 22, 1863 and brought boots filled with sausages. * Pension application: Certificate #280,937, Strain of back, Chronic Diarrhea and Heart Disease; Geo. Glotfelty and Henry Gray have known him for 16 to 35 years. Know he is helpless needs assistance all the time. Can't talk or walk. He was formally business man and P.
