* Private Battery K 204th Regiment 5th Pa. Heavy Artillery 
* Enlisted Aug. 27, 1864 at age 43 in Elk Lick, Pa. by Lt. Snyder 
* Mustered in Sept. 1, 1864 in Pittsburgh, Pa. by Lt. Williams for 1 year 
* Died Nov. 17, 1864 at Alexandria, Va. Grave 1885 
* Served Sept. 1, 1864 - Nov. 17, 1864 - 2 month 16 days
* Widow Pension lists the following: Widow - Susannah; Certificate dated Mar. 
30, 1866 gives Susannah a pension of $8 per month commencing Nov. 17, 1864; 
Certificate dated June 6, 1867 grants Susannah a pension of $8 per month 
commencing Nov. 17, 1864 with an additional $2 for each of the following 
children until they reach the age of 16: Lavina M. on Feb. 10, 1868, John H. on 
Dec. 21, 1860, Cornelius M. on May 26, 1872, Elizabeth M. on Dec. 28, 1874, 
Mesini on Jan. 2, 1879 and Sarah M. on Mar. 2, 1881
