Kooser, Francis Jacob

* Born June 14, 1846 in Somerset, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Died Mar. 12, 1932 in Somerset, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Buried in Union Cemetery, Somerset Twp. Somerset Co. Pa. 
* While a student at Millersville State Normal School, along with other 
students, he was pressed into military service to guard the bridge spanning the 
Susquehanna River at Wrightville, which was threatened by General Lee's invading 
army. 
* Occupations: in 1865 - Teacher, principal, in 1867 - Lawyer, in 1868 - 
District Attorney, in 1876 - Prothonotary, clerk of courts, in 1901 - Judge of 
the courts, Somerset Co. Pa. and in 1918 - Judge of the courts, Somerset Co. Pa.
