* Private in Captain David A Merrill's Co. F 24th Regiment Ohio Infantry 
commanded by Lieutenant Colonel A. F. M. Cockerill 
* Enlisted in Strumball Co. Ohio 
* Enrolled May 27, 1861 to serve 3 years or the duration 
* Discharged June 18, 1864 at Camp Chase, Ohio by reason of expiration of  term 
of enlistment 
* Age 26 
* Height - 5'11"; Hair - Dark; Complexion - Dark; Eyes - Black 
* Occupation - Farmer 
* Paid in full including bounty 
* Filed Oath of Identity Sept. 12, 1879 while a resident of Ursina, Somerset Co. 
Pa. 
* Served May 27, 1861 - June 18, 1864 - 36 month 21 days 
* He was in the following battles: Cheat Mountain, W. Va., Greenbrier, Va., 
Shiloh, Tenn., Stone River, Tenn., Woodbury, Tenn., Chickamauga, Tenn. where he 
was wounded, Lookout Mountain, Tenn., Mission Ridge, Tenn., Ringgold, Ga., Big 
Sandy, Ga. Where he was wounded by gunshot in the arm while on picket duty and

Columbus, Ohio
