* 1st Sergeant Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 20, 1862 at age 23 in Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton 
* Died May 24, 1864 of wounds received May 5, 1864 at Wilderness 
* Eyes - Blue; Hair - Dark; Complexion - Fair; Height - 5' 8" 
* Occupation at enrollment - Farmer 
* He was in the following battles: Fredericksburg; Chancelorsville; Gettysburg 
and Wilderness  
* Father Pension: Applied Aug. 27, 1879, Application #250409, no certificate 
number listed.
