* Private Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 19, 1862 at age 21 in Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. by F. A. Edmunds 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. 
* Mustered out with company May 29, 1865 
* Eyes - Brown; Hair - Black; Complexion - Dark; Height - 6' 1" 
* Occupation at enrollment - Farmer 
* He was in the following battles: Fredericksburg; Chancelorsville; Gettysburg; 
Wilderness; Laurel Ridge; Spottsylvania; North Ann River; Bethesda Church; 
Petersburg; Weldon R. R.; Popular Grove Church; Peebles Farm; Raid to Bellfield; 
Hatches Run and Dabney's Mill where he was wounded. 
* Dec. 28, 1864 he started home on a furlow and returned Jan. 8, 1865 
* Invalid Pension: Applied Apr. 13, 1874, Application #191534, Certificate
