* Buried in Union Cemetery, Meyersdale, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. D 133rd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enlisted in Aug. 5, 1862 at just over 15 years of age in Somerset, Pa. 
* Mustered in Aug. 14, 1862 as Private in Harrisburg, Pa.
* Wounded Dec. 13, 1862 at Fredericksburg, Va. 
* Mustered out May 26, 1863 with company 
* Served Aug. 14, 1862 - May 26, 1863 - 9 month 13 days 
* 2nd Sergeant Co. D 181st Regiment 20th Pa. Cavalry 
* Enlisted Jan 10, 1864 at age 18 in Somerset
* Mustered in Jan. 10, 1864 in Harrisburg, Pa
* Transferred to 1st Prov. Cavalry as Sergeant Co. D 
* Mustered out July 13, 1865 with company, discharged as a member of the 1st 
Provincial Veteran Cavalry. It was formed by the consolidation of the 2nd and 
20th Pa. Cavalry Regiments after Lee's surrender. 
* Invalid Pension: Applied Jan. 17, 1876, Application #213128, Certificate 
#144885; Widow Pension: Application #823336, Certificate #596585
