* 1st Sergeant Co. E 44th Regiment 1st Pa. Cavalry 
* Enrolled Aug. 1, 1861 at age 18 in Milesburg, Pa. 
* Mustered in June 27, 1861 as Private in Washington, D. C. 
* Height - 5' 8"; Hair - Brown; Complexion - Fair; Eyes - Blue 
* Occupation - Printer 
* Residence at enlistment - Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Re-enlisted Feb. 1, 1864 in Warrenton, Va. 
* Promoted from Quarter Master Sergeant to 1st Sergeant July 1, 1864 
* Transferred to Battalion Sept. 9, 1864 
* Died Oct. 3, 1864 at Petersburg, Va. 
* Wounded June 21, 1864
