* 2nd Lieutenant Co. E 171st Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enlisted Oct. 24, 1862 at age 32 in Camp Curtin, Harrisburg, Pa
* Mustered in Nov. 2, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa for 9 months 
* Mustered out Aug. 7, 1863 with company at Harrisburg, Pa 
* Served Nov. 2, 1862 - Aug. 7, 1863 - 9 month 5 days 
* Promoted from 1st Sergeant May 5, 1863 
* Promoted to Orderly Sergeant for meritorious conduct.
