* Buried in New Centerville Cemetery, Milford Twp. Somerset Co. Pa. 
* 1st Sergeant in Captain Iranaeus L. Smith's Co. C 54th Regiment Pa. Infantry 
commanded by Colonel J. M. Campbell 
* Enrolled Sept. 4, 1861 at age 22 in Somerset, Somerset Co. Pa. to serve 3 
years or the duration 
* Mustered in Sept. 30, 1861 
* Not on muster out roll 
* Discharged Sept. 3, 1864 at Harpers Ferry, West Virginia by reason of 
expiration of his term of service 
* Filed Oath of identity Aug. 23, 1866 while a resident of Milford Twp. Somerset 
Co. Pa. 
* Served Sept. 4, 1861 - Sept. 3, 1864 - 35 month 29 days 
* Disability - Gun shot wound in right leg below knee received in battle of New 
Market, Va. May 15, 1864, from a Minnie Ball. He was sent to Post Hospital and 
later to Clarysville, Md.
