* Born Nov. 2, 1840 
* Died Dec. 25, 1934 
* Buried in Jersey Church Cemetery, Lower Turkeyfoot Twp. Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private. Co. C 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enlisted Aug. 26, 1862 at age 21 in Somerset, Pa 
* Mustered in Aug. 26, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa 
* Mustered out with company May 29, 1865 
* Discharged May 29, 1865 at Washington, D. C. 
* He fought in every major battle in Maryland and Virginia. At Gettysburg on the 
first day of the battle he was struck twenty one times in the clothing, with no 
blood drawn. 
* Residence in 1925 - Confluence 
* Served Aug. 26, 1862 - May 29, 1865 - 33 month 3 days 
* Invalid Pension: Applied Nov. 8, 1879, Application #320854, Certificate 
#470448
