Orton, Charles C.

* Born Oct. 6, 1831 
* Died Oct. 6, 1881 
* Buried in Union Cemetery, Somerset, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* 1st Lieutenant Co. E 48th New York Infantry 
* Served Jan. 16, 1862 - Sept. 1, 1865 - 43 month 15 days 
* He had both feet amputated in September 1881 because his feet were badly 
frozen while he was in the regular army.
