* Private Co. C 2nd Regiment Maryland Potomac Home Brigade Infantry 
* Enlisted Aug. 13, 1861 at Frostburg, Maryland as Sergeant for 3 years service 
* Company Muster Roll dated May and June 1864 lists him as absent, sick at 
hospital Grafton, W. Va. 
* Company Muster Out Roll dated Sept. 29, 1864 lists the following: 2nd 
Sergeant, age 23, mustered out Sept. 24, 1864, last paid June 30, 1864, Clothing 
account - Due soldier $3.40, Due U. S. for arms, equipment etc. $1.79, bounty 
due $100 and as appointed 1st Sergeant from 2nd May 30, 1862
